Africa Food Systems Forum's unique focus is also its targeting of women and youth and it is dedicated to supporting investment in inclusive and sustainable food systems transformation. Our vision is to scale up the continent's efforts to build healthier, more inclusive, sustainable, resilient and equitable food systems that have the power to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa by 2030.

Here is our journey from inception to date

AFS Forum history
2006–2009

Yara International establishes the African Green Revolution Conference in Oslo as an annual event focused on fostering public-private partnerships and mobilizing investments into African agriculture.

2010–2021

The conference grows into the Africa Green Revolution Forum (AGRF), broadening its reach and convening governments, businesses, civil society, and farmers across the continent to accelerate inclusive agricultural transformation.

2022–To date

The forum is rebranded as the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS Forum), reflecting a renewed commitment to transforming food systems holistically - from production and processing to markets and nutrition - with an emphasis on sustainability, resilience, and equity.
